Fair trade is an important aspect of the Sustainability Flower, the integrated sustainability model that Eosta uses. Fair trade is covered by the "solidarity" aspect of the flower, which monitors and communicates aspects of economic sustainability.
The Sustainability Flower approach is especially valuable in cases where no fair trade certification is available; which is the case for specific products and Western countries. Apart from certified Fair trade, Eosta has set up the "One cent for the future" scheme, that saves money for social, cultural and educational projects. These projects are developed in close cooperation with the grower, to improve life for farm workers and local communities. Two examples can be found here.
